INTERPOL Access Request
Notice Status Check

Not all INTERPOL. An INTERPOL CCF Access Request allows individuals to determine whether their personal data is processed in INTERPOL’s databases. Through the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (“CCF”), you can request confirmation of whether your name appears in INTERPOL systems, including possible Red Notices,  or other INTERPOL notices. Konstantina Zivla assists clients in preparing compliant Access Requests and managing the submission process confidentially.

What is an INTERPOL CCF Access Request?

An INTERPOL CCF Access Request is a formal procedure that allows individuals to verify whether their personal data is stored or processed within INTERPOL’s information systems. This request is submitted to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files, the independent body responsible for overseeing the lawfulness of data processed by INTERPOL.

Through this procedure, individuals may obtain confirmation regarding:

a) Whether their personal data exists in INTERPOL systems

b) Whether an INTERPOL Notice or diffusion may be associated with their identity

c) Whether further action (such as correction or deletion requests) may be appropriate

Why do people submit Access Requests to CCF?

People often submit an INTERPOL Access Request when they:

  • Were stopped or questioned at an international border

  • Were denied entry to a country

  • Suspect a possible INTERPOL Red Notice

  • Have an outstanding arrest warrant in another country

  • Need to verify their status for immigration, business, or travel

  • Want to ensure they are not mistakenly listed due to a name match

What Information the CCF May Provide

The CCF may confirm whether INTERPOL is processing personal data relating to you. Depending on the circumstances and applicable rules, the response may include:

a) Confirmation that no data is recorded.

b) Confirmation that data exist, together with information regarding the requesting National Central Bureau and the legal basis for the notice or diffusion.

c) Confirmation that checks have been carried out, but that the source country has restricted access to the information, preventing the CCF from disclosing further details.

As INTERPOL data originate from its member countries, certain information may remain confidential in accordance with applicable rules and restrictions imposed by the requesting state.
